Enough with the bull shit.
Yes, I am a medical professional (ER Practitioner/private business owner), yes I am “supposed” to keep my mouth shut so I don’t offend anyone or lose my income, but I draw the line when you start messing with my kid and his quality of education and social interaction. I am done keeping my mouth shut. Enough is enough. I received an email from my son’s ELEMENTARY school indicating that masks will be implemented this fall along with what sounds like other “social distancing” changes.
Why does the state even ask for our opinion when 87% of parents responded in their survey that they would like to send their kids back to school with no restrictions?! The school board and state officials also received MULTIPLE emails from MEDICAL DOCTORS & PRACTITIONERS stating that masks in this age group are simply not feasible or advised.
How is it that a virus that is now showing a LESS THAN 1% mortality rate in our state and an ALMOST ZERO mortality rate in children is changing their way of life? Research is also showing that children are NOT spreading this like we were once concerned about. We deal with risks EVERYDAY. LET KIDS BE KIDS!! And don’t tell me “I hope your family member gets Covid and dies” because I have already had a family member die of Covid. The virus is REAL, but the response is 100% MANUFACTURED!
I understand the hospital is increasing in volume compared to our crazy slow previous months, but lets not pretend that masking elementary children (who won’t wear them properly anyway) is going to prevent the hospital from overflowing.
I understand some people feel vulnerable and scared. By all means, be extra cautious, but there is absolutely no evidence that masking children is going to prevent the spread of Covid. In fact, logic would dictate that this likely will cause more problems (touching faces more, sling shots, negative psychological effects, etc).
Noone knows it all and research is still developing which is why I still do what I’ve ALWAYS done and wash my hands a million times a day and avoid touching my face, especially in public places. I don’t go out if I’m not feeling well and yes I even wear a MASK if I’m going to be up in your face. Sure, I could get Covid tomorrow and could be part of the less than 1% who die. That’s life! Death is a fact of life and there are also a million other more likely ways I could die and ways I could unintentionally harm someone else.
Let’s not pretend that by masking children that we are “saving lives”.
